PONDA: The two brothers Daniel and Benny Fernandes who have been booked for threatening to kill Vincent Paul Fernandes, a Ponda Municipality councillor are still absconding.

Vincent Fernandes is the third vice-Chairperson in this term. He succeeds Vandana Jog.
On Tuesday, the two brothers, were involved in an accident with Vincent. He has accused them of trying to kill him.
Speaking to GT reporter Vincent said, “They are still absconding even though 24 hours have passed. This sends a wrong message.
Instead of the police interrogating the person with the car keys let him go," he said referring to an incident wherein an acquaintance of one of the accused is alleged to have approached the police to seek a compromise of the case. "This shows that police have not taken this case seriously," he added.
Speaking as vice-chairperson after his election, Vincent said, “My first priority is to build the garden at Kurtarkar Arcade.
This garden has been built but there is no equipment for children to play. I will personally request Home Minister to take this garden on priority.
