PANJIM: Home Minister Ravi Naik yesterday stated in the Legislative Assembly that the government will soon draft a comprehensive legislation encompassing modern day casino gaming rules and stringent verification of antecedence of licence holder including financial position.
Replying to the discussion on Demands for Grants for home, Goa police and prosecution, Ravi said the government will ensure there was no revenue loss in casino operation and that its interest will be protected as always it has.
He further assured that no illegal casino will be allowed to operate in the state, adding that legislators will be taken into confidence before enacting the law.
However, he said those operators who had not met statutory requirements had been given time to produce the same taking into consideration that hundreds of Goan youth were employed with decent remuneration.
